The importance of fibre for the human body
Over the past 40 years, the consumption of dietary fibre, which is much needed for the human body, has decreased by up to 10 grams per day (WHO recommends 30 g).
What does fibre do?
1. Lowers blood cholesterol levels by as much as 10-15%.
The most common causes of high cholesterol are poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle: food rich in fat and carbohydrates, which cause obesity, physical inactivity, alcohol and tobacco consumption.
